My Mac Will Not Download Adobe Flash Player

Compare the installed Flash Player version with the latest version of Flash Player for your Mac OS version. If the version numbers match, you have the latest version of Flash Player. How to Download and Install Flash Player on Mac for Free

  1. Go to Adobe's Flash Player
  2. Click on Install Adobe Pepper Flash Player.
  3. Now, click on Open from the popup → Click on Install.
  4. Enter your Mac's password if asked and then click on Install Helper.
  5. For installation, you may have to close any other apps that also require Flash. Click on Close All.
  6. Now, click on Continue, go through the process → Finish.

Uninstall Adobe Flash Player on Mac

  1. First, download
  2. Double click and launch the Uninstaller once it is downloaded.
  3. Now, click on Uninstall.
  4. Enter your Mac's password when asked and then click on Install Helper.
  5. Do not click Quit in the Uninstaller window but close all the running browsers
  6. After the uninstallation is complete, click Done.
  7. Adobe also asks you to delete the following directories
  • /Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player
  • /Library/Caches/Adobe/Flash Player

For this from Finder press and hold the Option key and click on Go from the top menu bar. You will see the Library. Click on it, and then find and delete the above two folders.

  2. Follow the prompts. Click Yes if you see the message 'Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?'

      Note:

      Beginning with Flash Player 11.5, uninstalling the Flash Player resets the AutoUpdateDisable and SilentAutoUpdateEnable settings in mms.cfg to their default values, which are:

      • AutoUpdateDisable=0
      • SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0

      If you are running the Flash Player uninstaller as part of your deployment process, redeploy any custom changes that you have made to either AutoUpdateDisable or SilentAutoUpdateEnable.
